Planting Seeds

There is a moment, often so quiet you almost miss it, when you feel something shift inside: It’s time.

There is a moment, often so quiet you almost miss it, when you feel something shift inside:
It’s time.

I think of it like standing in a garden at the edge of a new season. The earth has been resting, holding all its secrets under winter’s stillness. And then one day, the air feels different. You find yourself with a packet of seeds in your hand—not because you planned it, but because some part of you knows: today is the day to begin.

A Threshold of Readiness

In the teachings of yoga, there is a word for this sacred threshold: Atha.
In Sanskrit, atha means now begins.

It is not just a marker of time.
It is a heartbeat of readiness—a deep inner yes that rises when we are willing to step forward and tend something new.

“Every seed we plant in our lives begins with that yes.”

The yes to show up for ourselves.
The yes to open to wisdom.
The yes to nurture what is waiting quietly within us.

Planting Without Knowing

You don’t have to know what the seed will become.
You don’t have to see the bloom.
You only need to place it gently in the soil of this moment…
and commit to watering it with your presence.

“This is your threshold. This is your now.”

May what you plant here take root and grow in ways beyond what you can imagine.

A Journal Prompt for You

Take a few moments with your journal and explore:

  • What seed is ready to be planted in my life right now?

  • What would it feel like to nurture it, day by day, with my attention and care?

  • If I could trust the unknown, what might bloom from this seed?

A Simple Ritual

Find a small object—a real seed, a stone, or a piece of paper with your intention written on it.
Hold it in your hands. Breathe slowly. Feel its weight, its potential.
When you’re ready, place it somewhere special—a plant, a dish on your altar, a jar, or beneath a candle.
As you do, whisper softly:

“I plant this seed with love and trust. I will tend it gently. I am ready.”

A Closing Blessing

May your hands be gentle as you plant.
May your heart be steady as you wait.
May the soil of your life be rich with love,
and may each seed you place in this moment
rise toward the light and feed you in ways your soul has been longing for.
